Background. Among the modern young generation, entrepreneurial activities are becoming increasingly attractive. Young boys and girls dream to achieve success, to become businessmen and not to depend on the state economically. The aim of the presented work is to develop a system for the formation of economic independence and entrepreneurial competencies of students of a regional university.
Materials and methods. The works of modern domestic authors were used as a theoretical basis for the stated problem. The method of questioning, as the most convenient and accessible method at this stage, was used for the analysis.
Results. Theoretical approaches to the problem have been studied, methods and forms for collecting and processing information have been defined, a corresponding study has been carried out, initial recommendations have been developed, and a draft has been prepared for further research.
Conclusions. The study helped to develop a number of tips for modern students on the development of their economic independence and entrepreneurial competencies.
